It appears that AOL has finally gotten around to releasing a beta of the next version of the SHOUTcast server. There are still tens of thousands of stations out there utilizing SHOUTcast server. It's good to FINALLY see some activity out of them. Some years ago AOL bought out Nullsoft(the makers of SHOUTcast and Winamp) and then proceeded to fire the entire team. It was a disaster to say the least, and hurt the most popular open-source media server. Here's the link to the thread if anyone is interested in reading it:
